Naxalites attacked a convoy carrying BJP MLA Bhima Mandavi and several party activists in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region. The MLA, his driver and three security personnel were killed in the attack while several others have been reportedly injured.

In a fresh Naxalite attack near Maoist-infected Dantewada district’s Aranpur village, a Doordarshan cameraman and two policemen were killed. Two more policemen sustained injuries in the attack and were sent to a nearby hospital for treatment.
